Lauren Sánchez Bezos’s Belted Top Hides a Stunning Twist You Won’t Believe—Here’s What’s Behind It!
Lauren Sánchez Bezos, just days shy of stepping into the spotlight as a sponsor for the 2026 Met Gala—one of fashion’s most dazzling (and let’s be honest, ostentatious) nights—was caught turning heads in New York City with a look that’s anything but over-the-top. You’d expect bold glitter or jaw-dropping gowns, right? But nope, she kept it surprisingly simple yet sharp, donning a crisp white button-up paired with chocolate high-waisted slacks—a corporate chic vibe that’s giving us major style goals. It’s fascinating to see how someone about to grace such an extravagant event opts for understated elegance beforehand. Is this her calm-before-the-fashion-storm strategy, or just pure confidence in less being more? Either way, it’s got me thinking about how we all could channel a bit of that sleek minimalism even when life demands the loudest statement. If you’re itching to break down how Lauren’s effortlessly blending business with style before the big gala, stick around—you’re in for a treat! LEARN MORE
Only days before she will serve as a sponsor for the 2026 Met Gala (an event that acts as one of fashion’s most ostentatious nights of the year), Lauren Sánchez Bezos was spotted out and about in New York City, where she sported one of her more surprisingly understated looks yet.
For this particular outing, the children’s book author leaned into a bit of a corporate aesthetic, pairing a crisp white button-up with some chocolate high-waisted slacks that featured wide legs and darting all along the waist.
To continue her neutral tones, the former journalist slipped into a pair of cream platform heels, while carrying a black leather clutch from Hermès. Meanwhile, she popped on a pair of oversize sunglasses that featured soft sepia lenses.
Still, Sánchez Bezos can’t help but add a little bit of drama to her ensembles. Ever the fan of a cinched look, the former Extra correspondent tightened the bottom half of her top with a sandy belt, which appeared relatively nondescript from the front.
However, the view around back revealed that this sash was actually a corset belt, which laced up in the rear for a subtly Victorian touch. Perhaps she’s still feeling a bit inspired by the Wuthering Heights press tour that took place earlier this year? (Check it out here.)
One place where she will surely not hold anything back is at the Met Gala this coming Monday, where Sánchez Bezos will act as a sponsor alongside her husband, Jeff, as well as the French-based fashion house Saint Laurent.
This will mark her second time attending the fashion fundraiser, after she previously walked the red carpet in 2024.
