New insights into advertising effectiveness, business profitability and consumer trust will be presented on Thursday (15 October) at Radiocentre Ireland‘s Sounding Out 2026 conference.

International research analysing more than 1,200 advertising campaigns has found that campaigns incorporating audio are 75% more likely to achieve profit growth and 81% more likely to build brand trust than campaigns without audio.

The findings will be presented by renowned marketing professor and commentator Mark Ritson, who attracted a standing-room-only audience when he presented the research at the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity earlier this year.

The conference at Dublin’s Mansion House will also hear from prominent media entrepreneur Mark Little, former RTÉ Prime Time presenter and founder of Storyful, who will examine the challenges of maintaining trust in an increasingly AI-driven media environment.

Around 500 marketing, advertising and media professionals are expected at the conference, making it one of Ireland’s largest gatherings of its kind this year.

Other speakers include Professor Rachel Kennedy of the Ehrenberg-Bass Institute for Marketing Science, Beth Marchant of System1 and Ralph van Dijk of Eardrum, who will explore brand growth, creativity and advertising effectiveness.

New Irish research from Radiocentre Ireland will also be presented, alongside a discussion featuring Laura Lynch, group CMO of Bank of Ireland, and Paul Dervan, founder of Run with Foxes, hosted by Conor Byrne of That’s What I Call Marketing.

Commenting on the conference, Ciarán Cunningham, CEO of Radiocentre Ireland, said: “Trust is fundamental to the relationship between businesses and their customers, but the environment in which that trust is established is changing rapidly.

“Businesses need to understand what delivers real returns on their marketing investment while responding to the challenges of new technology and changing media habits.

“We’re particularly pleased to welcome Professor Mark Ritson to Sounding Out. His presentation at Cannes attracted enormous international interest, and we’re delighted to bring him and this important research to an Irish audience for the first time.

“The findings have significant implications for how businesses invest in advertising, achieve growth and build trust with their customers.”
