Apple Martin’s Stunning Transformation on Set Has Fans Wondering: Is She Gwyneth 2.0 or Carving Her Own Path?
Ever had one of those moments where you do a double take and wonder, “Hold on, did I just time travel back to 2001?” Because that’s exactly the vibe watching Apple Martin step onto the big screen for the very first time. Picture this: a young woman who could easily be mistaken for her iconic mother, Gwyneth Paltrow, setting the stage for a film debut that’s already buzzing with anticipation. It’s like déjà vu, but with a fresh twist—Apple’s rocking a peach cardigan and those classic jeans, effortlessly owning the camera like she’s been doing it forever. And get this—she’s sharing the set with none other than Owen Wilson, who starred alongside her mom in a cult classic a quarter-century ago. Talk about history repeating itself! With the mystery of Nancy Meyers’ upcoming film Paris Paramount still under wraps, one thing’s clear: Apple Martin is carving out her own path while honoring a legacy. Makes you wonder—what happens when talent and legacy collide on the silver screen?
Is that Gwyneth Paltrow in 2001? Nope, it’s her daughter. Making her feature film debut, Apple Martin is following in her mother’s footsteps—and it’s giving us a serious case of déjà vu.
Photographed on the set for Paris Paramount, a forthcoming Nancy Meyers film scheduled to hit theaters in December 2027, the 22-year-old star was seen in a peach cardigan and long blue jeans, with her blonde hair pulled back into a low ponytail. And despite it being her first big acting gig, she looked entirely at home in front of the camera—just like her mother would.
What made the comparison to her mom even more striking was the fact that Martin was joined by actor Owen Wilson, who starred opposite Paltrow in Wes Anderson’s Royal Tenenbaums 25 years ago. (It was there that the Goop founder met Wilson’s brother, Luke, who she dated briefly right before meeting her ex-husband, Chris Martin.)
While we don’t yet have much information on Paris Paramount, we do know that in addition to Martin and Wilson, the cast will include Penélope Cruz, Kieran Culkin, Jude Law, Erin Doherty, Tony Hale, and Beverly D’Angelo. Myers herself has kept her lips sealed shut, though she did give a brief synopsis of the plot, describing the project as a “movie about a group of people making a film and the magic and mystery of what we do.”
In addition to acting, Martin has been dipping her toes into an array of different creative endeavors—starring in GapStudio and Chloé campaigns, singing to Nashville crowds—all while finishing up her Vanderbilt University degree. Now graduated, the world’s her oyster.
