Founder Ball Is Shaking Up Startup Investing—Get Ready to Watch Millions Made Live, Like a High-Stakes Fight!
Ever wondered what happens when you mix high-stakes startup pitches with white-hot elegance on a yacht slicing through Toronto Harbour? It’s like watching the future of entrepreneurship unfold right before your eyes — but with a twist. Founder Ball isn’t your everyday pitch fest where one winner walks away and the rest just fade into the background. Nope, this is a live, electric arena where 250 sharp minds—founders, investors, and power players—are exchanging real-time capital on the gleaming decks of the Yankee Lady III, backed by the city skyline and sky-high ambitions. Five Canadian startups battle it out not just for bragging rights, but for up to a cool million dollars, as investors pour in funds dynamically, deciding on the fly which ventures have the muscle and mindset to make it big. It’s an experience that’s as much about culture and community as it is about cold hard cash—shaking up the whole old-school, stuffy pitch game into something more vibrant, more visceral. Toronto’s innovation scene just got a serious makeover, and trust me, you don’t wanna miss how this all plays out. LEARN MORE

Toronto’s startup scene is getting a new kind of pitch competition, Founder Ball, and it looks less like a conference ballroom and more like a scene out of a film.
On June 11, 250 founders, investors, executives, and business leaders will board the Yankee Lady III for Founder Ball: a first-of-its-kind live angel-allocation pitch battle and en blanc yacht gala set against the backdrop of Toronto Harbour.
But beneath the white attire, cocktails, and skyline views is a serious experiment in how startup capital gets deployed.
At the centre of the evening are five Canadian startups competing for up to $1 million in angel investor capital through a live allocation model that allows participating investors to direct funding in real time to the companies they believe in most.
Unlike traditional pitch competitions — where one company wins, and everyone else leaves empty-handed — Founder Ball transforms startup investing into a live, interactive capital marketplace. Throughout the night, investors will allocate capital, founders will build conviction through conversations and networking aboard the yacht, and a live leaderboard will track investment momentum in real time.
The 2026 Founder Ball Final Five include:
• Blossom Social: social investing and fintech
• SELLIT9: recommerce technology
• Marlow: women’s health
• VEGAIN Nutrition: wellness and performance nutrition
• Pontosense: AI-powered healthtech
The evening will conclude with the crowning of the Founder Ball Champion at midnight — awarded to the startup attracting the highest investor allocation.
More than a startup event, Founder Ball reflects a broader shift in how the next generation of founders and investors want to connect: less transactional, more experiential, and built around community, visibility, and participation.
In a city increasingly positioning itself as a hub for innovation and entrepreneurship, Founder Ball aims to make startup investing feel less hidden behind boardroom doors — and more like a cultural moment.
