Grant Thornton has appointed Marie Melody as a tax partner as it continues to grow its tax business.
Melody brings two decades’ experience across industry and professional services, advising domestic and multinational organisations on all aspects of Irish tax, with a particular focus on reorganisations, M&A transactions and international tax planning.
Her work spans cash and effective tax rate management, tax compliance and risk mitigation as well as Revenue engagement, including audits and enquiries.
She has advised Irish-headquartered and international groups on tax structuring, transactions and ongoing compliance across sectors including energy, pharmaceutical and technology.
A Fellow of Chartered Accountants Ireland and the Irish Taxation Institute, Melody will support the continued growth of the firm’s all-island and cross-border corporate tax offering.
She will work closely with Irish indigenous, PLC and growth businesses to navigate complexity and realise their growth ambitions.
“I am delighted to join Grant Thornton’s tax practice at a time of differential growth, both in terms of depth and breadth,” said Melody.
“Grant Thornton’s ambition, collaborative approach and strong client focus really stood out to me. I was keen to join a firm where I can make a meaningful impact, working closely with clients on strategic transactions and efficiently manage their tax affairs.”
Earlier this year, Grant Thornton named five new tax partners.
Steve Tennant, managing partner at Grant Thornton Ireland and EMEA CEO of the Grant Thornton Advisors group, added: “Marie’s appointment reflects our continued investment in building a market-leading tax offering within the firm.

“She brings deep experience across compliance, advisory and transaction-related work, which will play a key role in strengthening our capability as a firm and supporting the growth ambitions of our clients.”
