Actor Lana Condor is coming off a series of mentally and physically demanding roles—from a soldier behind enemy lines in 2025’s Valiant One to a bloody ballerina fighting off a gang of armed men in 2026’s Pretty Lethal. Each time, the 28-year-old relied on a curated set of recovery tools to get her through, she tells Women’s Health in the latest episode of Well Said.

Valiant One, the war film, was the first movie that I had done where it became very difficult for me to keep the work at work and not bring it home with me, because it became very real for me,” she says. “I would be driving home, and I would hear an engine kick, for example, and it would kind of really freak me out. Something that really helped me was hot yoga—putting my body into another almost extreme physical situation helped me not feel like I was in war.”

For Pretty Lethal, Lana took advantage of the bevy of on-set bodywork practitioners to keep the aches and pains away. “Our production was really wonderful,” she says. “They had sports physical therapists and chiropractors on set. In between takes, we would get acupressure appointments or we would get adjusted back into shape, because we were really putting our bodies through it.”

When not on-set or prepping for production, Lana prefers to keep her workout routine low-key, opting for yoga or Pilates sessions or a walk. And she knows exactly how she would spend her perfect reset day. It starts with her husband, Anthony De La Torre, making her breakfast in bed (with a side of matcha). “Once I’ve eaten, and I’ve had matcha and my cuddles, I’ll go outside, get some sunshine, then take a walk with my dogs,” she says. “[I’ll] go home, journal, do some light yoga, and then genuinely lay on the couch for the rest of the day with my Nintendo and my snacks. Love Island’s playing in the background, and I’m gaming and I’m eating.”

Sounds dreamy right? But, if you feel tempted to join Lana in this fantasy, you should be aware of one thing: You might need to check the expiration dates on all those snacks in the fridge.

“I have a lot of expired food,” she admits. “Food is my everything. I love leftovers. I bring them home, and then oftentimes I just forget.”

Awww, it happens to the best of us, Lana!
