Payments platform Paysafe has announced a new partnership with League of Ireland club Shelbourne FC as it looks to increase brand awareness in Ireland and other key European markets.

The agreement will give the New York Stock Exchange-listed company visibility across Shelbourne’s matchday environment, club platforms and fan engagement channels throughout the season.

The partnership is expected to provide year-round exposure through matchdays, broadcast coverage, social media content and club activations, connecting Paysafe with the club’s supporters and business partners.

Paysafe said the agreement would help strengthen its presence among consumers and businesses in Ireland, while providing opportunities to explore new ways of improving payment services and fan experiences.

Richard Swales, executive officer at Paysafe, said the company was focused on partnerships that would allow it to reach audiences through their interests and experiences.

“Football has a unique ability to bring together communities, businesses and fans at scale, and Shelbourne FC offers an exciting opportunity to elevate the Paysafe brand while supporting a club with a proud history and ambitious future,” he said.

The companies are also exploring opportunities to collaborate on payments and supporter experiences, drawing on Paysafe’s expertise in secure transactions and digital payment services.

The partnership will provide exposure to domestic and international audiences, with both organisations looking to develop further engagement opportunities through club initiatives and events.

Tomás Quinn, chief executive of Shelbourne FC, said the club was pleased to welcome Paysafe as a partner.

“Paysafe’s commitment to innovation, customer experience and growth aligns well with our ambitions, and we’re excited about the opportunities this partnership can unlock,” he said.

The agreement comes as Paysafe continues to use sports partnerships to increase awareness of its brand and connect with consumers through established sporting communities.

The company operates a global payments platform serving businesses and consumers, providing payment solutions designed to be secure, flexible and seamless.
