New York Fashion Week offered no shortage of ideas for the season ahead, but RR22 made a particularly strong case for going bigger — and, when it comes to accessories, sometimes much smaller.
The collaboration between Edition22 and Rick Ross presented its Spring/Summer 2027 collection at Runway 7 at Sony Hall this past weekend, sending a unisex lineup of elevated streetwear, oversized silhouettes and statement bags down the runway.
Relaxed dressing remained at the centre of the collection, but the styling offered a few clear takeaways for the season ahead.
Oversized Dressing Is Going Nowhere
Borrowing your boyfriend’s hoodie has officially evolved into borrowing the entire outfit.
RR22 leaned heavily into oversized proportions, with roomy T-shirts, loose shorts and slouchy silhouettes appearing throughout the show. The styling gave traditionally masculine streetwear a more effortless, unisex feel, particularly when paired with bold accessories and hits of colour.
Rather than looking unfinished, the oversized shapes felt deliberate, balancing comfort with a more considered approach to streetwear.
Tiny Bags Still Have a Place
While the clothing went oversized, some of the accessories headed in the opposite direction.
Love Island USA Season 8 stars Amora Cacheé and Corey Sawyer Jr. both appeared on the RR22 runway carrying compact bags that stood out against the collection’s looser silhouettes.
Cacheé paired her look with a bright yellow mini top-handle bag, while Sawyer Jr. carried a burgundy style, using colour and scale to add contrast to the otherwise relaxed looks.
