Tennis Pro Tommy Paul’s Wedding Reveal: The Burberry Suit That Stole the Show and Left Fans Speechless
Ever wonder what it’s like for a top-tier tennis pro to swap those sweat-soaked whites for something a little more… tuxedo? Yeah, me neither, until Tommy Paul decided to do just that for his wedding weekend. Picture this: between smashing serves at Wimbledon and grueling training sessions, he’s dialing in over Zoom with Burberry, plotting out not just one, but three killer outfits that mix sharp British tailoring with a kick of modern flair. It’s a next-level fashion game, and spoiler alert — it’s not just for him. His mom and a globe-spanning crew of groomsmen are getting the royal treatment too, with fittings flying in from L.A. to London. But beneath the suits and fine stitching, there’s a story about growth, the big moments that matter, and how investing in yourself — on and off the court — changes everything. Buckle up, this isn’t your typical wedding style story. LEARN MORE
It’s not everyday you see Tommy Paul trade in his tennis whites for a navy double-breasted tuxedo—but his wedding seems like the appropriate time to do so. About a month before the big day, and in between Wimbledon training sessions, the sports star hopped on a Zoom from London to give us the scoop on his custom Burberry wedding look.
“I don’t wear suits too much,” Paul says. “I mean, in tennis, we sometimes have galas or events that we have to go to. We dress up a little bit, but this will be a whole different level.” It’s a whole other level alright, one that the Burberry team is pulling out all of the stops for. The house isn’t just dressing Paul; they’re also creating custom fits for his mom and ten groomsmen—who are all over the globe. From L.A. to Miami to New York to London, the Burberry team has been flying everywhere for the fittings, whether it’s to catch Frances Taifoe before a match or get measurements on Riley Opelka (who is nearly seven feet tall).
But the star of the show is obviously what the house is planning for Paul, which is a series of three looks for the entire wedding weekend. It kicks off with a single-breasted brown wool suit for the rehearsal dinner, paired with a wide-leg pant. Then comes the ceremony suit, followed by a classic tuxedo with a shawl lapel for the reception. The trio of outfits blends the brand’s signature British tailoring with contemporary detailing—resulting in some of the best damn suits that Paul will ever wear.
It’s a moment that makes sense for Paul and for Burberry. But it’s in these bigger moments that Paul reflects on the smaller ones, and everything else that gotten him to where he is today. As we learned more about the tennis star’s upcoming wedding look, we also took a deeper dive into his past.
Burberry Friends
I’ve been a friend of the brand since 2025, and it’s been amazing working with them. They have put together such a cool collection for my wedding day. There’s going to be little details on our outfits, like the cufflinks and the stitching inside the suit jackets. The attention to detail is absolutely amazing. We’ll get some really cool shots of it, so I’m sure a lot of people will see it, but it’s really a work of art, what Burberry is doing.
My mom’s been blowing me up nonstop. She couldn’t believe the sketches that Burberry made for the outfits. All of my groomsmen are so excited to wear something as nice as this. Besides maybe one of them, I don’t know that any of them have a suit or a tux this nice.
The Big Fit
You know, I was initially thinking of a much more classic black tux. Keep it traditional. I’m not typically a huge fan of bow ties—I like a skinny tie—but then we started talking more, and they showed me some options. There was this double-breasted suit that was unbelievable, and we were like, “We have to do that.” There’s no other time that I’m really going to rock a double-breasted suit. So this was the moment.
Wedding Rules
Early on, Paige wanted an oyster bar. That was her non-negotiable—she wanted that so badly. But yeah, Paige has pretty much gotten everything that she wanted.
And I guess, there’s the typical “nobody should wear white,” right? And the dress code is black tie, so everyone’s gonna be dressed really nice. That’s something that me and Paige immediately agreed on. I think it looks amazing when you see everyone dressed to the nines, putting on their best outfits, and really celebrating. It’s not too often that you have almost all of the people that you love in one room together, so it’s going to be an amazing moment for us.
What’s More Stressful: a Proposal or a Tournament?
Oh, I was more nervous to propose. I only get to do that once, you know? I can’t mess it up. I can mess up in a Grand Slam, and I’ll have another chance.
Game-Day Mentality
It’s different for every match, and it’s different for every swing. Sometimes, you’re very high on confidence and you don’t need to tell yourself much. And sometimes you might lose a couple of matches that you don’t think you should lose, and your confidence goes down. When I’m down like that, I like to tell myself that I can beat anybody. I like to tell myself how good of a player I can be and how good of a player I am. I think when you’re up—like when you’re playing well and you’re confident—it’s better to not talk too much and keep a completely clear mind. I talk with my coach a lot about the game plan and tactics, but in terms of speaking to myself, I try to just keep it quiet in my brain.
Advice for Amateurs
I think that things changed for me when I really started investing in myself. Early on in my career, I had the USTA supporting me financially and giving me coaching, which was an amazing thing. There were great coaches around me, but I started going through the motions a little bit. I think that once I started investing in my career and paying for my coaches, paying for my training, I didn’t want to waste a day. I felt like every second I was out there, I had to make the most of it.
Really, even when you’re in the gym, think about what you’re doing and how it’s going to help you. When you’re on the court, think about matches, and visualize how each session is going to help you. That’s something that’s been important for me.
