Tesco Ireland has opened its newest superstore in Tyrrelstown, Dublin 15, adding 65 jobs.

The bright, modern 22,000 sq ft outlet offers an extensive range of Irish food and drink products and beloved brands.

The store has energy-efficient lighting and modern fridges to help reduce energy use as well as 220 solar panels on the roof, providing 20% of electricity needs.

“This is a big moment for me and the new team that’s come together to serve our customers here in Tyrrelstown,” said store manager Oisín Gartlan.

“We’re excited to welcome everyone to our fabulous new store, and we cannot wait to get to know, and become part of, the local community.”

Minister for Public Expenditure, Infrastructure, Public Service Reform and Digitalisation and Fianna Fáil TD for Dublin West Jack Chambers said, “I’m delighted to see Tesco open its doors in Tyrrelstown, creating 65 new local jobs for the community.

“This is a vote of confidence for the area.

“The new store will offer shoppers more choice while supporting the continued development of Tyrrelstown.

“I look forward to Tesco becoming an active part of our community.”

The new store will support the local community through its Community Fund with the first donations going to Tyrrelstown GAA, Tyrrelstown Karate Club, and Foróige Tyrrelstown.

Every Tesco store also teams up with a local DEIS primary school, providing free healthy fresh foods weekly as part of the Stronger Starts initiative, and this new store will partner with Ladyswell National School, Mulhuddart.

The store will also support Tesco’s food redistribution programme in collaboration with FoodCloud and OLIO to support the Children’s Health Foundation.
