Doja Cat is proving that less is more with her 2026 Met Gala beauty look. In somewhat of a departure from last year’s bold and ‘80s-inspired makeup, the star opted for a monochromatic finish instead, created by celebrity makeup artist Ivan Núñez. “It’s a bit of both, glam, sultry, and more modern, but super angled and sharp like a business suit from the ‘80s would feel,” he tells Bazaar of Doja’s 2026 Met Gala makeup look.

Núñez first prepped the singer’s skin using M.A.C.’s Hyper Real Serumizer Skin Balancing Hydration Serum and Hyper Real Skincanvas Waterlight Cream HA3 Moisturizer, then accentuated her face contours using Studio Fix Fluid Foundation in shades NC20 and NC40 for a seamless base, followed by Studio Fix Powder. “The texture and shine of the dress immediately called for a glossy lip, which we complemented by carrying that same monochromatic tone throughout the rest of the look,” continues the artist. “I wanted to play into the nude tones of the dress, so we leaned into something sexy and sultry, with skin that felt rich and luminous.” Doja’s outfit, created by Anthony Vaccarello for YSL, also pairs perfectly with the star’s center-parted dusty blonde hair, created by JStayReadyfor Red Hot Tools and Kiss Colors & Care styling products, adding to her nude look.

To conceptualize her sculptural red carpet makeup look, Doja and the artist worked closely over weeks to pinpoint its exact details: From her razor-sharp and highly pigmented eyeliner and contoured lip combo to her contoured cheeks. “Doja Cat and I are always sharing inspo photos with each other via social media,” adds Núñez. “We pick at each other’s brains for a bit and collaborate with each look that we create, so tonight was no different.”

As for what’s on the playlist during Doja’s Met Gala glam? The artist says it’s usually a mix of elevator music and whatever is trending on social media, mixed with a lot of laughter. And once the star makes her way to the Met steps, Núñez swears by one final touch to seal Doja’s look all night long: Plenty of powder. “Powder photographs so well, and it makes your makeup last,” he explains. “I set the look using Studio Fix Powder Foundation and finished everything with Fix+ Stay Over to lock it in.”
