This summer, TokyoTreat is transporting snack lovers to the tropical islands of Okinawa—no plane ticket required.

The Japanese snack subscription service has unveiled its August box, Okinawa Snackin’ Paradise, featuring a playful combination of limited-edition sweets, savoury snacks and island-inspired flavours. Each TokyoTreat delivery includes between 12 and 15 full-sized Japanese snacks, with the selection changing monthly to highlight seasonal products and treats that can be difficult to find outside Japan.

One of the biggest highlights is the Strawberry Cheesecake KitKat, inspired by Baskin-Robbins’ strawberry cheesecake ice cream flavour. It gives the familiar chocolate bar a summery twist and captures the kind of exclusive, unexpected flavour combinations that make Japanese KitKats so popular among collectors and curious snackers.

Okinawa’s beloved sweet potato also makes an appearance in the Haisai Sweet Potato Pie. “Haisai” is a common Okinawan greeting, making the flaky pastry and its rich sweet potato filling a fitting introduction to the region’s flavours.

The box becomes even more adventurous with Kakigori Bar Gum, a soda-flavoured gum with a crunchy texture designed to recreate the experience of eating Japanese shaved ice. Those craving something savoury can dig into the Okinawa Wafu Dashi Ramen, which pairs thick, wavy noodles with a light broth made using kombu and shiitake.

Part of the fun comes from the variety. Chocolate, candy, pastries and ramen sit side by side, turning the unboxing into a tasting experience rather than an ordinary snack delivery. It is an easy way for Japanese food fans to discover products they may never encounter at their local grocery store.

TokyoTreat currently offers monthly and prepaid subscription options. Prices range from $29.99 USD per box with a 12-month prepaid plan to $39.99 USD for the monthly plan, with shipping charged separately. The Okinawa Snackin’ Paradise box is available to order until August 15, 2026.
