Repak has opened entries for the 2026 Repak Resource Awards with businesses, community groups, schools and organisations invited to enter the environmental awards.
Formerly known as the Pakman Awards, the awards celebrate impactful businesses and organisations in waste prevention and resource efficiency.
Four new categories are being introduced this year: Sustainability Team of the Year, Best Recovery Operator Innovation, Innovation in Sustainable Packaging Design, and Innovation in SUP Reduction/Removal.
The new categories are intended to recognise organisations developing practical solutions to reduce environmental impact while broadening the award’s focus beyond traditional recycling.
Each winner of the 17 categories will also be eligible for the Overall Repak Resource Award for outstanding achievements in recycling and waste management, innovation, and grassroots environmental action.
Previous winners of Repak Resource Awards include Lidl, Aldi, Soltec, The Killarney Park and The Ross, and Irish Packaging Recycling.
The winners will be announced on Friday 23 October at the awards ceremony at the Mansion House in Dublin.
“We are delighted to introduce new award categories this year that celebrate the innovation driving Ireland’s transition to a more circular economy, with a particular focus on prevention, reduction, reuse and refill,” said Zoë Kavanagh, CEO of Repak.
“The Repak Resource Awards … is a fantastic celebration of Ireland’s sustainability champions, bringing together the very best ideas, projects and people from across the country.
“We encourage businesses, organisations, schools, community groups and individuals… [to] showcase the incredible work they are doing.”
