Good morning, Kim Kardashian! Starting off a day of press appointments in New York City, the reality star-turned-actor joined her fellow All’s Fair costars on Good Morning America to promote the legal drama’s second season. And while most of us need a cup of coffee (or two) to get ourselves dressed and out the door, she woke up and slipped straight into a vintage Paco Rabanne party dress.
The look, styled by Law Roach, was an intricate peach gown pulled from the Spring/Summer 1989 couture collection. The top was crafted from hundreds of metal discs, which were stitched together to create a one-shoulder silhouette with a side cutout, making for an asymmetrical, backless piece of armor. From the waist, a long silk-crepe skirt floated to the ankle, where it was met by little heeled sandals with clear PVC straps.
The piece of history was sourced by Maison Vintage Virtuoso, a Paris-based archival studio focused on couture, and was reportedly introduced to Kardashian’s team four months ago. (The same ensemble recently sold for nearly $11,500 on 1st Dibs.)
On GMA, Kardashian shared several candid stories from her time filming All’s Fair, and even revealed that she thought Sarah Paulson’s lower-register on-camera voice was her real voice until just a few weeks ago. Despite this confession, the costars were some of the closest on set, and often made one another break character. “They made Sarah and I one time get up and take a walk around the building because they said we needed to get it together,” the Skims founder told the talk show. “We were laughing so hard.”
Kardashian, who later changed into a sheer knit minidress from Dolce and Gabbana’s Autumn/Winter 1997 collection, has curated a press tour wardrobe full of custom gowns (Ashi Studio), vintage pieces (Todd Oldham), and standout couture looks (Schiaparelli).
