Deloitte Ireland has appointed Maeve Lochrie as a Partner in its Tax & Legal practice.

The firms says the move strengthens their private wealth capabilities and its offering to entrepreneurs, entrepreneurial families and family offices.

Lochrie is a solicitor and Chartered Tax Adviser with more than 12 years’ experience advising high-net-worth families and entrepreneurs, family businesses, family offices, offshore trust companies, investment managers and private banks.

Her appointment comes as entrepreneurs and families face an increasingly complex environment in managing the intersection between their business interests, private capital and personal wealth, with succession planning becoming a growing strategic priority for many Irish businesses and their owners.

Lochrie brings significant experience across wealth and business succession planning, asset protection and preservation, and international structures.

She has advised some of the world’s most successful entrepreneurs on complex domestic and international mandates and is consistently recognised as a leading lawyer in the Chambers High Net Worth: Private Wealth Law Guide.

Prior to joining Deloitte, Lochrie was a partner in the Private Wealth Group of one of Ireland’s largest commercial law firms.

Harry Goddard, CEO of Deloitte Ireland, said: “Maeve brings exceptional expertise and a strong understanding of the issues facing entrepreneurs and families as they think about the future of their businesses, their capital and the transfer of wealth between generations.

“These are increasingly interconnected and complex decisions, and clients are looking for advisers who can bring together the right expertise around the whole picture.

“I am delighted to welcome Maeve to Deloitte. Her experience, judgement and client focus will further strengthen our ability to support some of Ireland’s most ambitious entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial families at critical points in their journey.”

Lochrie’s appointment forms part of Deloitte Ireland’s continued investment in specialist capabilities to support privately owned businesses, entrepreneurs and families as they navigate increasingly sophisticated business, investment and wealth considerations.

Speaking about her new role, Lochrie added: “I am excited to collaborate with colleagues across Deloitte to strengthen our position as strategic adviser to Ireland’s entrepreneurs and entrepreneurial families, helping them navigate their business interests, private capital, and the often-complex process of succession,” she says.

“The opportunity is to look at these questions holistically. For entrepreneurs and families, decisions about the future of a business are often inseparable from decisions about ownership, wealth and the next generation.

“Deloitte’s breadth of expertise provides a powerful platform from which to help clients navigate those decisions and build sustainable intergenerational success.”
