On the heels of Taylor Swift’s Fourth of July weekend wedding extravaganza, where she reportedly wore custom Dior by Jonathan Anderson, the designer presented his Haute Couture Fall 2026 collection, inspired by artist and sculptor Lynda Benglis. Lush trees and greenery enveloped the entire runway, serving as the perfect backdrop for the golden-green makeup Peter Philips, creative and image director of Christian Dior Makeup, created to complement the structural elements on the runway.

“For Haute Couture, Jonathan wants to keep the girls looking cool and young,” Philips tells Bazaar. “Luminous skin, without too much contouring and highlighting, that’s natural, keeps it very fresh, young, and cool.”

While green hues are typically seen in the warmer months, Philips makes a case for an unexpected green eye for the fall as the ultimate cool-girl look. “The green eye shadow is my interpretation of fall colors.” After the crystal eyeliner he created for Dior’s 2027 Cruise runway show, Philips continued his sparkle streak by creating a variety of green-gold eyes, using an unreleased palette from the upcoming Fall 2026 makeup collection.

“The girls come out of this black box into the ferns and greenery on the runway, so when they come out with the sparkle on the eyes, it catches the light, and you suddenly have a moment of fireworks,” he adds. “It gives a surprise effect.”

Within the new palette from the upcoming Fall 2026 makeup collection lies a trio of greens, from chartreuse to pale sage. For the full gilded lid, Philips opted for the chartreuse shade. “This shade reads more like a gold-green and becomes warmer and more golden on the eyes,” he explains. To amplify the gilded eye look, Philips topped the chartreuse color with a barely-there golden glitter.

Other models wore a darker green graphic eyeliner, which, Philips says, “completes the structural element that you find in Jonathan’s creations.” For the extra-structured runway looks, Philips kept the eyes simple, with a touch of salmon-pink eyeshadow.

Philips also kept the face quite pared back, loading up on hydrating skincare and creating a thin veil of blush by mixing peach and rosy pigments with a touch of foundation and buffing it into the skin. While Philips didn’t use any contour products or shadow techniques, he created structure on the face with Glassy Glow Stick in a shade that imparts a wet texture rather than shimmer. For the lips, Philips applied a simple pink gloss, the Dior Addict Lip Maximizer in a baby-pink hue.

Hairstylist Guido Palau also leaned into the show’s structural elements. While some models kept their hair long, sleek, and tucked behind their ears, others wore metallic silver or gold headpieces that perfectly complemented the collection and the shimmery eye makeup.
