You Won’t Believe This Affordable Seiko Collab Watch Inspired by a Hidden Manga Gem—Here’s Why It’s a Game-Changer!

Ever wonder why some of the coolest Seiko watches never make their way across the Pacific to us? It’s baffling, right? Especially when we’re talking about these jaw-dropping anime and manga collaborations that scream exclusivity—and who wouldn’t want in on that? This year alone, Seiko has dropped models inspired by legends like Fullmetal Alchemist and Neon Genesis Evangelion, yet they keep them mostly Japan-bound. It’s like inviting you to the party but keeping the door locked. Now, they’ve upped the ante with a dress watch drawn from the dark fantasy world of D.Gray-man, capturing the essence of Allen Walker with details so intricate, they practically tell a story on your wrist. It’s more than just a timepiece—it’s a conversation starter, a piece of art, and maybe even a secret weapon in your style arsenal. Curious yet? LEARN MORE

There are plenty of Seiko watches that never make it to our shores. That’s particularly true of the Japanese brand’s many anime and manga collaborations.

Already this year, Seiko has worked on models dedicated to Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Fist of the North Star, RE:Zero, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, among many others. Considering how rapidly anime streaming platforms are growing around the world, you might expect the brand to rethink its Japan-only approach at some point.

Now there’s another: a dress watch inspired by the manga series D.Gray-man, a dark fantasy written and illustrated by Katsura Hoshino that debuted in 2004. Specifically, Seiko has drawn inspiration from its protagonist, Allen Walker.

For the uninitiated, the long-running series is set in late-19th-century Europe and follows Walker, a young man who joins an organization of exorcists called the Black Order to take on the Millennium Earl, a ghost-like figure in a top hat who revives the dead and drafts them into his army of demons.

On the dial, you’ll find a golden mask, crown, and wings that reference Walker’s “Crown Clown” form, which functions as a kind of armored suit in the series. The gold carries over to the watch case, while at 12 o’clock sits a three-dimensional silver pentagram, like the one above Allen’s left eye. At six o’clock is the same cross that appears on his left hand. Behind all these details, the black dial has a checked pattern.

Flip it over and you’ll find an engraving of Timcanby, the ball-shaped golem that accompanies Walker, on the case back. It sits alongside the words “Don’t stop, keep walking.” It even comes with a special edition collector’s box.

The watch costs around $340 via Japanese retailer Anmibus. If you fancy getting your hands on one, you can pre-order it now ahead of its release in early April 2027.
