2 min readWhen Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan laid his plans for a Four Sixes ‘6666’ Ranch spinoff to rest, it felt like we would never see cowboy Jimmy (Jefferson White) again. The comic supporting character was sent to learn how to wrangle and train horses on the legendary Texas ranch in season 4, with John Dutton (Kevin Costner) later giving Jimmy permission to stay. But after Yellowstone ended with season 5 and split into two spinoff series, we never heard from Jimmy again.
That is, until Wednesday, when Paramount announced that actor Jefferson White would return to the Yellowstone-verse in Marshals season 2. Though there are still plenty of questions surrounding exactly how Jimmy will return to the Yellowstone Ranch, he joins fellow Yellowstone alum Luke Grimes (Kayce Dutton), Gil Birmingham (Thomas Rainwater), Mo Brings Plenty (Mo), and Brecken Merrill (Tate Dutton).
“I’m thrilled to dive into the world of ‘Marshals’ and continue exploring the American West,” Jefferson White said in a statement about his return. “The cast and crew are stacked full of my favorite actors and filmmakers, and I’m honored to join them. Jimmy and I have been through a lot together, and I can’t wait to see what’s next for us.”
In Marshals season 2, Kayce and co. are headed toward a war with new villain Tom Weaver (Chris Mulkey), who wants to take over the last remaining section of the Yellowstone Ranch. Though he’ll have ample help from his fellow U.S. Marshals, it seems that Kayce may require some additional hands.
Marshals returns for season 2 very soon on Sunday, October 4. Until then, the series is currently embarking on a “Big Rig Tour” in Louisville, Kentucky, for fans to take part in exclusive photo ops, giveaways, and more. No word yet on any cast sightings, but I’m sure Jimmy isn’t the last reveal up Marshals’s sleeves for season 2.
