Anya Taylor-Joy’s latest look is a serious mood booster. Stepping out on July 16 to promote her heist crime-thriller miniseries, Lucky, the actor brightened up New York City’s hazy, smokey sky with a vibrant preview of Balmain’s Pre-Spring 2027 collection.
The first to wear an ensemble from the forthcoming line, Taylor-Joy selected a colorful summertime fit centered around a fuchsia satin bra that certainly beat the heat. The textured top was layered only with a long-sleeve olive-green cardigan, designed with a cropped, shrunken silhouette that reached only to the bra-line. The star left its chunky buttons undone.
As for bottoms, the green-and-purple color palette was expanded with an orange, brown, and yellow floral jacquard velvet midi skirt with a front slit and knee-grazing hem. Her lemon mules, crafted with an open toe and clear heel, brought out the yellow in the pattern above.
The Queen’s Gambit lead accessorized the look with a gold Tiffany & Co. Elsa Perretti Bean pendant, which hung from her neck on a delicate silk black cord. She paired the sculptural statement piece with gold hoop earrings and a matching bracelet. Her platinum hair was straightened and parted to the side, and her eyelids were touched with a blue-gray shadow.
Helping Balmain usher in a new chapter has become somewhat of a tradition for Taylor-Joy, who debuted the house’s Fall/Winter 2026 collection just last April. Here, her exclusive sneak peek at the forthcoming line marked its first public appearance—and we can’t wait for what’s to come.
