Law firm Browne Jacobson has reported record annual revenues of £148.8m (€174m) as it accelerated its expansion across the island of Ireland through acquisitions, recruitment and investment in artificial intelligence.
The UK and Ireland firm recorded a 9% increase in revenue over the past financial year, driven by growth across sectors including technology, health and life sciences, financial services, insurance, education and government.
The results were achieved before the addition of Belfast-based Davidson McDonnell, which joined the firm in May 2026 and now operates as Browne Jacobson Northern Ireland.
The acquisition, which brought a business with annual revenues of approximately €6.4m into the group, is a key part of the firm’s strategy to establish a fully integrated all-island practice serving clients across the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, the UK and international markets.
The firm has also expanded its Dublin operation, appointing Marie-Claire Scullion as Head of Employment in Ireland, alongside Associate Jack O’Connor and Principal Associate Jennifer Murphy, while continuing to invest in specialist legal talent.
During the year, Browne Jacobson rolled out AI legal platform Legora across the business as part of a wider strategy to improve digital capabilities and equip staff with artificial intelligence skills.
Managing Partner Richard Medd said the firm had laid strong foundations for future growth.
“This has been a year of purposeful investment, bold ambition and significant progress,” he said.
“We have strengthened our presence across the island of Ireland, welcomed and promoted exceptional talent, accelerated our adoption of AI and continued to invest in the capabilities that will define the future of professional services.”
He added that while record revenues were significant, the firm was equally focused on long-term growth opportunities for clients and staff.
The Ireland business advised on several high-profile transactions and disputes during the year, including acting for Yoplait in Commercial Court litigation against Danone, advising The Range on its acquisition of the majority of Homebase’s Irish stores and representing Blue Capital Markets in a successful High Court jurisdiction challenge.
Ciaran Markey, Partner and Co-Head of the Dublin office, said the merger with Davidson McDonnell had strengthened the firm’s ability to support clients across the island.

“The merger with Davidson McDonnell further cements our ability to serve clients on a truly all-island basis, and the calibre of talent joining us in Dublin reflects the ambition and opportunity we see in this market,” he said.
The firm’s Irish practice also secured new recognition in the Legal 500 EMEA 2026 rankings, with its Corporate practice ranked for the first time, while Browne Jacobson was recognised among Europe’s most innovative law firms in the Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Europe rankings.
