Gymshark Exposed: The Truth Behind the Hype That Every Fitness Fanatic Needs to Hear
Ever found yourself endlessly scrolling through fitness TikTok, wondering why Gymshark seems to pop up everywhere like that friend who just gets your workout vibe? There’s a reason behind the hype — this UK-based activewear brand isn’t just about looking good; it’s about feeling supported, comfortable, and ready to smash those gym goals without breaking the bank. I’ve been rocking Gymshark gear since my college days, and let me tell you, it’s more than just trendy threads; it’s about performance, style, and a little something that feels like the perfect fit for every move you make. Curious why Gymshark has such a devoted following, and which pieces might just become your new workout staples? Let’s dive in. LEARN MORE
IF YOU’VE SPENT any amount of time on fitness TikTok, chances are you’ve already heard of Gymshark. The UK-based activewear brand has a devoted following thanks to its mix of trendy designs, gym-ready performance fabrics, and prices that feel a little more approachable than some of the bigger names in the category, like lululemon or Alo. I’ve been wearing Gymshark’s workout clothes since my college years, and I get the hype.
My all-time favorite item from the brand is the Soft Sculpt Legging. It was my first purchase from Gymshark as a workout newbie, and it remains in my legging rotation to this day (which, as a Women’s Health style writer, says a lot). It feels super supportive around the waist and hips without squeezing the life out of me, and the waistband never rolls down—a huge legging pet peeve of mine. The Everyday Seamless Cropped Tank is another favorite: It’s soft, stretchy, and supportive enough that I don’t need to wear a sports bra underneath for low- to medium-impact workouts. It also looks super polished thanks to the no seams, racerback design, and elongated V-neck. I wear it with the Soft Sculpt Legging a lot, and also on its own with sweats or lounge shorts on a casual athleisure day.
For training days, I’ve also been reaching for the Lift Seamless Sports Bra and Lift Seamless Shorts (seamless is kind of the name of the game when it comes to Gymshark styles). Both offer plenty of support and stay-put comfort without feeling restrictive, and the seamless fabric gives them a sleek, flattering look. The Power Washed Cuffed Joggers are a newer find for me, but have become my absolute favorite throw-on layer for coffee runs, dog walks, and post-gym errands. I love the lived-in, slightly distressed look and cozy feel that doesn’t make me overheat.
The newest collection I can’t wait to get my hands on? Gymshark’s latest collaboration with Bratz. Vintage activewear has been everywhere lately, and Gymshark is doing it in a big way with these styles that scream Y2K. The 22-piece collection combines the doll brand’s signature confidence with Gymshark’s performance-focused designs, resulting in workout sets that are equal parts flattering and functional. Expect sculpting fabrics, dipped waistbands, contouring details, and subtle bum-scrunch seams, all in playful shades of pink, purple, and other washed hues that feel super nostalgic.
I’m already eyeing the Gymshark x Bratz Short, which has the same seamless design as my go-tos from the brand, plus a flattering dipped waistband and a playful washed color. I’m also keen to try the Light Support Sports Bra (I love the halter and regular spaghetti straps) and the Full Zip Jacket.
Whether you’re looking for new pieces to wear during your toughest workouts or simply want activewear that looks as stylish as the rest of your wardrobe, Gymshark has you covered (with a whole lot of brattitude). I’m a big fan of everything I’ve tried from the activewear label, from their durable materials to stylish designs to prices that don’t make my wallet cry. Having tried tons of different workout clothing brands, I can confidently say Gymshark is worth your coin.
