TV’S BIGGEST ACTION show is finally back. Prime Video just dropped the first three episodes of a new season of Reacher, and considering season 3 was one of the most watched shows ever on the streaming platform, as Deadline reports, the newest season will have to bring viewers an even more intense story to top Reacher’s previous action-packed adventures. There are 30 books (and counting) in the Lee Child book series to choose from, so the television adaptation has its pick of where it wants to go next.

At the end of season 3, we last saw Reacher going head-to-head against his old enemy Francis Xavier Quinn while assisting the DEA with a drug smuggling case. Once Reacher says goodbye to his friend Frances Neagley, he rides off on a motorcycle to find his next case, and there’s no telling where he’ll end up. However, there’s a whole world of Lee Child fans out there, eager to know which Reacher story the show will cover. Thanks to a major teaser from star Alan Ritchson, we’ve known for a little while exactly where his character is headed, and there’s no question that this season in its entirety will be worth watching.

According to an interview Ritchson did with Screen Rant, “We’ve never shot this many fights,” and the show “set a record” for how many they’ve filmed in comparison to previous seasons. With an unstoppable character like Jack Reacher, it only makes sense that the show has to keep upping the stakes, and the book season 4 is based on is potentially the most action-packed one yet.

Which Book Is Reacher Season 4 Based on?

No need for much investigation here. Last year, Alan Ritchson posted a major teaser on Instagram, posing with the 13th book in Lee Child’s Reacher series, Gone Tomorrow.

Released in 2009, Gone Tomorrow finds Reacher in New York, where a 2 a.m. subway ride turns deadly. He notices a woman who he suspects is a suicide bomber. When he confronts her, she shoots herself. While the NYPD is eager to close the case, Reacher is determined to learn more about the woman, and what drove her to her death. He discovers she worked at the Pentagon in D.C., and Reacher’s continued search for answers sets him on a path through a major conspiratorial web involving Washington politicians, federal agents, and terrorists.

However, the Prime Video series is already taking a major departure from the books, as the season 4 premiere title, “City of Brotherly Love” suggests the show may change the inciting incident’s location from New York to Philadelphia.

Who Stars in Reacher Season 4?

As with previous seasons, season 4 will be disconnected from previous adventures, and feature a new cast of characters. Plus, it’s in a brand-new location. Besides Ritchson as Jack Reacher, the only potential recurring character could be Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, who’s set to star in a spin-off show, which is set to premiere later this year.

In June 2025, Deadline reported season 4’s cast would include Christopher Rodriguez-Marquette (recently known for his role on HBO’s Barry), Kevin Corrigan, and Sydney Noelle, among others.
