Why Paul Dixon’s Promotion to Circle K Managing Director Could Signal a Game-Changing Shift in Retail Strategy
So, Circle K Ireland just handed the reins to Paul Dixon, and honestly, it’s got me thinking—what’s behind that kind of long game leadership? Dixon’s no stranger to Circle K’s maze of forecourts, coffee counters, and fuel pumps; he’s been carving his path there for nearly a decade, climbing through roles like a pro scaling a retail ladder. With over 20 years in retail and commercial leadership packed under his belt, he’s stepping in as managing director come August 1st, ready to steer a fleet of 420 petrol stations and a solid 2,300-strong team across Ireland. But here’s the kicker: in an era where convenience is king and EV charging is the new black, can Dixon keep Circle K charging ahead of the curve? His predecessor, Ciara Foxton, just zoomed off to a bigger international role, so the spotlight’s firmly on Dixon now. From food and coffee to cutting-edge fuels, this guy’s got a full tank of ambition—and I can’t wait to see how he drives the future of Circle K with that can-do spirit. LEARN MORE
Circle K Ireland has appointed Paul Dixon as managing director.
Dixon starts work on 1 August and brings more than 20 years of retail and commercial leadership experience to the role.
In nine years with Circle K, he has progressed through senior leadership roles spanning operations, retail execution and commercial growth.
Most recently, Dixon served as business-to-business, mobility and sales (BMS), leading the forecourt operator’s commercial business, including its network independent operated Circle K locations, fuel card services and bulk fuel supply operations.
From 2019 until joining the BMS team in 2025, Dixon served as retail director of operations, with responsibility for Circle K’s 170 company-operated locations across Ireland.
Dixon succeeds Ciara Foxton, who has been promoted to senior vice president, operations for Circle K Mid-Europe & Asia.
“I am delighted to be taking on the leadership of Circle K Ireland and humbled to have the opportunity to lead a business and team that I know so well. Having worked across several areas of Circle K Ireland over the past nine years, I have seen first-hand the commitment of our people and retail partners to serving customers and communities across Ireland every day.
“As Ireland’s market-leading forecourt and convenience retailer, Circle K has continued to evolve its offer to meet the changing needs of our customers, from food, coffee and convenience to fuel, EV charging and alternative fuels,” said Dixon.
“I look forward to building on that momentum, supporting the continued development of our people, working closely with our retail partners and continuing to deliver great experiences for customers across our retail and commercial businesses.”

Circle K has 420 petrol stations and 2,300 employees in Ireland. The company also operates a large commercial fuels business and two owned terminals across the country.
