It might have been summer weather yesterday in New York City, but Meryl Streep didn’t let the heat stop her from taking out a couple of her best springtime coats.

Back stateside after weeks traveling everywhere from Seoul to Shanghai for the Asia leg of the Devil Wears Prada 2 press tour, the actor stepped out in a vibrant, joyful bright green coat.

Covered in black polka dots, the bold retro-inspired piece featured a sweet collar, drop shoulders, and buttons that blended right in. Plus, it was finished with an inverted lining (black with green dots). It’s all in the details.

She wore it with a white button-down shirt and blue jeans, adding Prada sunglasses, a capacious blue-gray leather tote bag, and little black clogs.

Later that same day, Streep attended the New York press junket in a red tonal dressing moment. Courtesy of Dolce & Gabbana—a go-to choice for the actor and her stylist, Micaela Erlanger—the look was built around a burgundy trench coat. Crafted from shiny vinyl, the double-breasted outerwear was designed with a popped collar and oversize lapels. Buttoned up and cinched at the waist with a belt, the piece reached all the way down to the ankle and concealed most of the ensemble.

Even so, pops of cherry red made themselves known. Underneath the trench, a patterned Gabriela Hearst dress peeked out, and in the star’s hand, a Manu Atelier bag proved the perfect match. Her pointy-toe D&G heels rounded out the coordinating hues.

She finished off the look with Emmanuelle Khanh sunglasses and Effy Jewelry jewels.
